Class of 1971 makes generous donation to Msunduzi Hospice

The group donated four wheelchairs, two walkers and a blood pressure machine to assist the hospice in caring for patients.

The Matric Class of 1971 of Woodlands Secondary School has donated essential medical equipment to Msunduzi Hospice.

The group, known as the Golden Class of 1971, donated four wheelchairs, two walkers and a blood pressure machine to assist the hospice in caring for patients requiring palliative care, mobility support and ongoing medical monitoring.

The donation was presented under the leadership of the class chairperson, Preggy Naidoo.
Speaking at the handover, Naidoo praised the work carried out by Msunduzi Hospice and its staff, acknowledging the care they provide to patients and families, often under difficult circumstances.

“As part of our social responsibility, we are proud to be associated with this fine organisation,” said Naidoo.

The Golden Class believes that giving back is a responsibility. We trust that this contribution will bring relief and dignity to those who need it most.

Msunduzi Hospice CEO Lettitia Marais thanked the former pupils for their generosity, saying the equipment would have an immediate impact on patient care.

“We are deeply appreciative of the Golden Class of 1971 for their generosity and thoughtfulness,” said Marais.

“The wheelchairs, walkers and blood pressure machine are items that are in constant demand.

Your donation will be put to good use and will make a tangible difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

The Golden Class of 1971 has built a reputation for supporting charitable initiatives in Pietermaritzburg and continues to uphold a spirit of unity, service and pride in its alma mater through community outreach projects.
