The first arrest was made in the EKho area, where officers conducted a stop-and-search operation and found a 22-year-old suspect in possession of an unlicensed pistol.
In a separate operation near Bhamshela Mall, police stopped and searched a 20-year-old man.
He was found carrying a 9mm pistol loaded with 14 rounds of ammunition.

Ngcobo said intelligence-led policing and targeted operations remain critical tools in the fight against crime and the removal of illegal firearms from communities.
The recovered firearms will undergo further investigation, including ballistic testing, to determine whether they may have been used in the commission of other crimes.
The suspects are expected to appear in the KwaDukuza Magistrate’s Court on Thursday to face charges related to the unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
