Gunmen kill three men at fruit and vegetable stall

The three men sustained fatal gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

Police are investigating a triple murder after three men were shot dead in Lower Crossroads, Philippi East, in the Western Cape, on Saturday evening.

According to police, the victims were sitting at a fruit and vegetable stall outside a home in Ntloyiya Street at about 7.05 pm when three unidentified suspects approached and opened fire.

The three men sustained fatal gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the scene by paramedics. The suspects fled immediately after the shooting.

The motive for the attack remains unknown and no arrests have been made.

Detectives from the Provincial Serious Violent Crime Unit are following up on leads to identify and apprehend those responsible.

Police have increased visibility in the area to maintain stability and prevent any further violence or possible retaliatory attacks.
