What Sassa beneficiaries need to know before July payments

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) will begin paying out July social grants this week, with millions of beneficiaries set to receive their payments from Thursday.

Don’t rush to collect on the first day
Sassa says beneficiaries should avoid long queues, as funds will remain available in their accounts after the official payment dates.

Payment dates are staggered

  • Older Persons Grant – Thursday, July 2
  • Disability Grant – Friday, July 3
  • Children’s Grants – Monday, July 6

Payments roll over if dates change
If a payment date falls on a weekend or public holiday, it will be moved to the next business day.

Keep your banking details up to date
Sassa has urged beneficiaries to ensure their bank details are correct and active to avoid delays.

What to do if you are not paid
If funds do not reflect within two to three business days of the expected date, beneficiaries are advised to contact Sassa on 0800 60 10 11 or visit their nearest Sassa office.
