Msunduzi steps up traffic enforcement with warrant roadblocks across city

Msunduzi Municipality has intensified its traffic law enforcement efforts, with daily roadblock operations targeting motorists with outstanding warrants of arrest.

On Tuesday morning, the Msunduzi Traffic Police conducted a roadblock operation along Chief Albert Luthuli Street as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and strengthen law enforcement across the city.

The operation was led by Chief Traffic Officer Bheki Xulu and supported by municipal law enforcement teams.

The municipality said the operation focused on identifying motorists with outstanding warrants of arrest to ensure accountability and compliance with the law.

Chief Traffic Officer Bheki Xulu said the operations form part of a broader strategy to increase law enforcement visibility and improve community safety.

Daily operations will continue during peak traffic hours. These will be rolled out across major arterials, suburbs, townships and locations such as Edendale, Vulindlela and Sweetwaters.

He said the municipality would continue with the operations to improve compliance and road safety.

“While such operations may be disruptive, they are essential for strengthening road safety and enforcing justice against offenders,” he said.

The municipality said the roadblocks form part of its ongoing efforts to increase law enforcement visibility and enhance safety for road users across the city.
