Live traffic updates: PMB, Midlands and KZN (July 10, 2026)

Motorists are advised of a stationary vehicle on the N2 northbound at the ramp from Mdloti St, obstructing the left lane.

Afternoon traffic update:

Motorists travelling across KwaZulu-Natal are urged to exercise caution, with several incidents and roadworks affecting traffic on the N2 and N3 on Saturday.

A stationary truck is obstructing the left lane on the N2 southbound after the King Shaka Interchange, and motorists are advised to drive carefully.

The N2 southbound will be closed between the Umdloti and Mt Edgecombe interchanges from 7 pm on Saturday until 4 am on Sunday to allow for the installation of overhead sign gantries. Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes and expect delays.

On the N3 southbound before the Peter Brown Drive off-ramp, roadworks have resulted in the closure of the left lane. Drivers should proceed with caution.

A veld fire has been reported on the N3 northbound before the Hilton Interchange, and motorists are urged to reduce speed and remain alert.

Meanwhile, roadworks on the N2 southbound before the Sibaya Interchange have resulted in lane restrictions, with delays expected in the area.

Authorities have urged road users to remain patient, obey traffic officials and road signage, and allow extra travel time where necessary.


Morning traffic update:

Motorists are advised of a stationary vehicle on the N2 northbound at the ramp from Mdloti St, obstructing the left lane.

The N3TC reports that there are currently no incidents disrupting the flow of traffic along the N3 Toll Route from the Cedara I/C 96 to Heidelberg I/C 59.

According to the N3TC, there is misty conditions along the N3 Toll Route at Cedara towards Mooi Plaza while there is clear conditions from Estcourt to Heidelberg.

Roadworks continue to affect traffic at several locations:

  • N3 southbound before Peter Brown Drive – Left lane closed.
  • N3 southbound after the Richmond Road off-ramp – Left lane closed.
  • N3 northbound at the Cato Ridge interchange on-ramp – Two left lanes closed. Delays are expected.
  • N3 between Ashburton and New England Road interchanges – Restricted lanes in both directions.
  • N3 between Shongweni and Hammarsdale interchanges – Roadworks in both directions.
  • N3 between EB Cloete and the M13 (Paradise Valley) interchange – Restricted lanes in both directions.
  • N2 at the EB Cloete interchange – Restricted lanes in both directions.
  • N2 between KwaMashu and Umdloti interchanges – Restricted lanes in both directions.

Motorists are also reminded that the N3 southbound carriageway between the Hammarsdale interchange and the M13 (Key Ridge) has been diverted onto the northbound carriageway under a contraflow system.

The traffic arrangement is expected to remain in place for up to two years while a new southbound carriageway is constructed.

Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time, reduce speed in construction zones and remain alert for changing traffic conditions.
