Earlier this year, Ithuba confirmed that the winner of the R100.6 million Lotto jackpot from the May 6, 2026 draw had come forward to claim his prize.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at Checkers Hyper in Sandton City and secured a jackpot of R100 644 721.10, making it the third-largest Lotto jackpot won in 2026.
The winner, an entrepreneur in the mining sector, revealed that he had been playing regularly after narrowly missing a PowerBall jackpot just months after he started buying tickets.

“Within four months of playing regularly, I won in the second division of PowerBall and missed the jackpot by just one number. After that moment, I told myself that one day I would win, and I kept playing consistently,” he said.
He only realised he could be the winner after seeing media reports that Ithuba was searching for the holder of the winning ticket.
