Man killed after alleged housebreaking incident in Nhlazatshe

Five members of the family linked to the property where the alleged theft occurred were taken to the Plessislaer Police Station.

A man believed to be in his 30s was killed in the Nhlazatshe area on Saturday after he was allegedly caught inside a house during a suspected theft incident.

According to a police source, members of the Public Order Policing (POP) unit were called to the scene following reports that the suspect had been apprehended by community members after allegedly being caught in the act of stealing from a house.

The circumstances surrounding the man’s death remain unclear, and police are investigating the incident.

The source further revealed that five members of the family linked to the property where the alleged theft occurred were taken to the Plessislaer Police Station for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
