Police officer killed while responding to domestic violence call

A police sergeant was killed and another officer injured after they were allegedly attacked while responding to a domestic violence complaint in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, on Saturday night.

The suspect fled the scene on foot and remains at large.
Police have opened cases of murder and attempted murder, with the investigation handed over to the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks).

Acting Mpumalanga police commissioner Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi said police were determined to bring the suspect to justice.
