The South African Police Service (SAPS) has urged motorists to exercise caution as the school holidays come to an end and learners prepare to return to school this week.

Drivers are also encouraged to obey speed limits, adjust their speed according to road and weather conditions, and avoid driving when tired or drowsy.
Police reminded motorists that all occupants should wear seatbelts throughout the journey.
SAPS further warned motorists not to drink and drive and advised them never to leave valuables or bags visible inside their vehicles, even when stepping away for a short period.

The police urged road users to plan their journeys, remain vigilant and obey the rules of the road to help ensure everyone reaches their destinations safely as schools reopen.
