The South African government has flagged a social media post claiming that terrorist attacks are being planned at various sites in the City of Johannesburg as fake news.
The message, which has been circulating online, alleges that a group of individuals is planning to carry out attacks using explosive devices at locations including the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens, Sandton Square and Park Station.

The claims include allegations involving foreign nationals, a South African National Defence Force (SANDF) member and an alleged foreign intelligence connection.
