Defending champion Gerda Steyn comfortably retained her Comrades Marathon crown, winning this year’s race in an impressive time of 5 hours and 45 minutes.

Steyn once again showcased her dominance in The Ultimate Human Race, controlling the women’s contest from the front and never looking seriously threatened as she powered her way to the finish.

Having been tipped as the favourite before the start, the South African road running star lived up to expectations, delivering another commanding performance to secure yet another Comrades Marathon title.
